Perry Hamlin Cornwall Jr., a life time resident of Wethersfield, died Friday, June 3, 2011 at the age of 85. He is survived by his wife of fifty five years, Marilyn S. Cornwall, as well as their daughters, Elizabeth Mills and Leslie Bolin, three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Perry graduated from Admiral Bullard Academy, served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and graduated from the University of Hartford with an A.S. in Metallurgy. He was the General Manager of the Connecticut Foundry Company in Rocky Hill and later was President of Linemaster Switch Corporation in Woodstock, CT. He was an avid skier, tennis player, amateur photographer and bridge player. Perry was involved in many community service activities, serving over 50 years with Wethersfield Civitan, he was instrumental in fund raising efforts to relocate Eleanor Buck Wolf Nature Center to Mill Woods Park and was a master blood donor with the American Red Cross. Perry touched many people’s lives and will be fondly remembered by all. We will be celebrating Perry’s gift of life Friday, June 10, 2011 at 11am in The First Church of Christ, 250 Main St, Wethersfield with burial to follow at the Portland Center Cemetery, Bartlett St., Portland. Memorial donations may be made to the Cornwall Scholarship Fund, c/o Friends of Eleanor Buck Wolf Nature Center, 156 Prospect St, Wethersfield, CT, 06109.
